It also benefits from existing transmission infrastructure that could support future energy expansion.

The timing for this transition is critical as Europe’s electricity landscape undergoes a significant transformation. The electrification of various sectors is driving demand while decarbonization efforts necessitate increased renewable generation. Demographically speaking, northern Montenegro has grappled with population decline and uneven development over time. While large-scale renewable investments alone will not resolve these challenges, they can lay new economic foundations conducive to long-term growth.

This evolving landscape may alter Montenegro’s economic map significantly. For many years, development narratives centered around coastal regions; however, over the next decade, pivotal developments may emerge from the mountainous north.
