Montenegro’s Tax Administration collected 1.52 billion euros in gross tax revenue from 1 January to 31 October 2026, up 139.4 million euros, or 10%, from the same period a year earlier. Collections exceeded the overall target by 62.1 million euros, or 4.3%.
The previous-year total for the period was 1.38 billion euros. The administration attributed the increase to efforts to encourage voluntary payment of tax obligations, improve its service approach and taxpayer services, and make risk-based inspections more effective.
Value-added tax (VAT) generated 537.2 million euros, an increase of 42.4 million euros, or 8.6%, year on year. VAT collections were 17.5 million euros above plan, adding to the overall over-performance against the target.
Corporate profit tax receipts reached 237 million euros, up 9.8 million euros, or 4.3%, from the same period in 2025. The collection plan for the tax was met and slightly exceeded, the Tax Administration reported.
Contributions brought in 373.5 million euros, an increase of 34.6 million euros, or 10.2%, year on year. Collections from contributions surpassed their plan by 3.4 million euros. The administration described the results as confirming continued stable growth in tax revenue collection.
By year-end, the Tax Administration will continue work to improve public revenue collection, modernise business processes and implement planned reforms. It also called on taxpayers to meet their legal obligations on time and in line with current regulations.
