Budva welcomed approximately 245,000 tourists in the first half of 2026, generating close to 800,000 overnight stays, as reported by Montenegro’s statistical office, Monstat. This figure reflects a modest increase compared to the same timeframe last year.
Currently, Budva is hosting around 44,500 visitors, marking an annual rise of about 3%. Private accommodation remains the preferred choice among tourists, with 24,888 guests opting for this option, representing a 6% growth. Hotels have seen 18,525 visitors, while hostels and campsites reported increases of 17% and 4%, respectively.
The largest source of tourists for Budva is Serbia, contributing to 13% of total arrivals. Visitors from the United Kingdom and Germany account for a similar proportion. Local tourism officials emphasize the importance of increasing demand from Western Europe for Budva’s potential as a year-round destination.
As the peak season progresses into August, tourist numbers are anticipated to reach nearly 50,000. Enhanced air connectivity has also bolstered growth; approximately two million passengers traveled through Podgorica and Tivat airports in the first seven months of the year, reflecting a 0.6% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Additionally, hotel group Budvanska Rivijera has reported favorable outcomes, with a 6% rise in revenue during the first half of the year and a significant improvement of 28% in its financial results. Many of the group’s hotels are either fully booked or have limited availability.
