During the WTM fair in London, representatives of NTOCG hold over 50 meetings with representatives of tour operators, airlines, media and other relevant companies mainly from Great Britain, but also from other markets.

– Bearing in mind the growing trends when it comes to tourist visits from the Great Britain market this year, as well as the potential and announcements for the following tourist seasons, the National Tourist Organization of Montenegro has intensified its promotion on this market. In a series of planned promotional activities, participation in the World Travel Market in London is certainly one of the most important, not only when it comes to promotion in Great Britain, but also in general when it comes to the promotion of the destination, since it represents a meeting place the main actors of tourism from all over the world – said Aleksandra Maksimović from the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro.

As she stated, the importance of the event and the level of participants is also indicated by the fact that the Ministerial Summit is traditionally held during the London Tourist Exchange, in cooperation with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), and this year on the topic “Thinking about tourism”.
– The focus of the promotion of Montenegro is the presentation of the overall tourist offer of the destination for the upcoming winter and next summer tourist season, as well as special packages that hoteliers from Montenegro, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism and the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, have formed for longer stays in Montenegro during the winter months. The interest of the British media and tour operators in our destination, expressed at this fair, is great, and special attention is attracted by the novelties on offer, such as the opening of new hotels of renowned hotel brands in Montenegro and new airlines from this market in the coming year, and expects continued growth of positive tourist trends – said Maksimović.

The news is that the airline company Jet2.com and tour operator Jet2holidays announced for the next season the introduction of flights from Manchester to Tivat, twice a week in the period from May 1 to October 30, which will add to the existing year-round Ryanair line and easyJet seasonal lines and Wizz Air, further improve connections with London and Manchester and contribute to the growth of tourist traffic from Great Britain in the next season.

The representative of that company, Ian Doubtfire, expressed satisfaction with the aforementioned cooperation and the introduction of a new flight to Montenegro.

– I am very much looking forward to the fact that our customers will finally have a direct flight from Manchester. According to our plan, about 20,000 passengers from Great Britain will travel by direct flight to Montenegro. This is a great start of cooperation, and I hope it will improve even more – he said.

Montenegro’s stand was also visited by the newly appointed ambassador of Montenegro in London, Bojan Šarkić with his associates.

Confirmation of the improved image of Montenegro as a tourist destination on the UK market is the nomination for the most desirable European destination in 2022 by the readers of the prestigious British magazine “Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards 2022”. It is the oldest British magazine dedicated to travel, with a special focus on sustainable tourism, and one of the most influential when it comes to British people’s decision on choosing their next travel destination.
