Montenegro has reaffirmed its commitment to becoming a key player in the premium nautical tourism sector through the successful hosting of the Luštica Bay Sailing Cup 2026. The event drew around 150 sailors from Montenegro and neighboring countries, taking place in the scenic Trašte Bay near Tivat. This regatta featured competitors from various categories, including youth, Olympic-pathway, and cruiser yachts, underscoring the expanding sailing community and the significance of maritime sports in boosting the tourism economy.
The regatta occurred on 30–31 May 2026, organized by JK Krtoli and Luštica Development. It combined competitive sailing with promotional efforts for one of Montenegro’s premier coastal developments. Participants competed in categories such as Optimist, ILCA 4, ILCA 6, and cruiser yachts, while offshore sailors engaged in a navigation race linking Luštica Bay to the historic Mamula Fortress.
