The NGO MANS has sent an open letter to lawmakers from the ruling parties, emphasizing that they did not protect the beaches of Velika Plaža, Buljarica and Jaz for politicians and their investment plans, but for the citizens and future generations. They also reminded the lawmakers that they stood side by side with the civil sector in defending the coastline from similar plans by the previous regime.

As highlighted in a post on the social media platform X, they did not protect these beaches for political power. “We did not protect them for positions, seats, or investment plans. We protected them for the people, for nature, for the generations to come. And we endured hardships because we did not remain silent. We defended them together. Back then, you stood with us—side by side. You called for protests against the previous regime when they wanted to hand the coast over to their friends. And now you want to give away what we saved together. You want to continue where they left off. And now it is you who want to silence us,” stated MANS.

They emphasized that this is not a matter of government versus opposition; it is a matter of conscience, integrity, and honor.

“Velika Plaža, Buljarica, and Jaz are not trophies for those in power. They are gems of Montenegro. And we will not give them up—to you, to them, or to anyone,” concluded MANS in their open letter.
