March payment transactions total 2.21 billion EUR, 30% higher than February

The value of the completed payment transactions for the 21 working days in March amounted to 2.21 billion EUR, which is a 30% increase compared to February, according to data from the Central Bank (CBCG).

Of this amount, 94.5% was processed through the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system, and the rest through the Deferred Net Settlement (DNS) system.

In the RTGS system, individual payment transactions between participants are carried out on a gross basis in real-time, while in the DNS system, interbank payment transactions are processed on a net basis with deferred timing.

“In March, a total of 1.29 million orders were processed over 21 working days, with 40.73% processed through the RTGS system and the remainder through the DNS system,” the CBCG report states.

The average daily volume of completed payment transactions in both the RTGS and DNS systems, measured by the number of orders, was 61,490 orders, while the average daily value of payment transactions amounted to 105.5 million EUR.

In March, the system operated without any disruptions for 11,450 minutes, achieving 100% availability.
