In the second quarter of 2026, Montenegro experienced a 5.4% increase in the prices of imported industrial products compared to the same period in the previous year, as reported by the national statistical office, Monstat. This rise was primarily driven by a 5.4% year-on-year increase in manufacturing import prices, while the mining and quarrying sector noted a modest growth of 0.3%.
When compared to the first quarter of 2026, prices for imported industrial products surged by 4.7%. This increase was mirrored in manufacturing prices, which also rose by 4.7%, whereas prices within the mining and quarrying sector remained stable.
Additionally, export producer prices followed a similar upward trend, climbing 3.8% in the second quarter relative to the same quarter in 2025. The mining and quarrying segment recorded a yearly increase of 5.3%, while manufacturing export prices saw a rise of 3.7%.
On a quarterly basis, export producer prices increased by 0.9%, with manufacturing prices advancing by the same percentage and the mining and quarrying sector showing a smaller rise of 0.5%. These figures highlight ongoing price pressures affecting both imported industrial goods and products manufactured domestically for export markets.
