As of the end of June 2026, Montenegro reported approximately 212,600 fixed broadband connections across various technologies, according to the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (EKIP). This figure represents a 0.5% increase from May and a 1.81% rise compared to June 2025, highlighting a steady growth in demand for high-speed internet services.
Fibre-optic networks emerged as the dominant access technology, with around 116,130 Fiber to the Home/Business (FTTH/B) connections recorded. Additionally, cable distribution networks, known as Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) or KDS systems, accounted for approximately 52,760 connections.
Other technologies contributed to the total as well, with VDSL technology serving about 27,450 subscribers and ADSL standard connections numbering around 13,950. Wireless broadband through Wi-Fi networks comprised about 1,980 connections.
Furthermore, there were an additional 339 connections utilizing various other technologies such as satellite internet, MPLS services, and leased lines. These statistics underline the increasing significance of fibre-optic infrastructure in Montenegro’s broadband landscape, which now makes up over half of all registered connections.
