Montenegro’s Directorate for Games of Chance reports 51% revenue increase in 2024

The Directorate for Games of Chance announced that the total revenue from games of chance and prize games at the end of 2024 amounted to €33,812,130.86, marking an increase of 51.27% compared to 2023.

According to the Directorate, this achievement fully met the goals of the Directorate for Games of Chance, the Ministry of Finance and the Government of Montenegro in strengthening the state budget.

  • The total annual revenue from organizing online games of chance and other telecommunications services reached €12,581,648.11. There was also a 91.19% increase in revenue from casino games, which amounted to €5,191,503.25. Additionally, revenue from betting games totaled €9,634,685.72, marking a 7.08% increase compared to 2023, as stated in the announcement.

During the same period, the Directorate reported a 26.44% increase in revenue from games of chance organized in slot machine clubs, reaching €6,320,924.39 in the previous year.

They reminded that on November 1, 2024, the Directorate for Games of Chance established a unified information system, which improved the process of overseeing game organizers and laid the foundation for sustainable growth and increased budget revenues.

The implementation of the new information system in the second half of the year, coupled with a significant increase in revenue from games of chance, clearly demonstrates the successful operation of the Directorate for Games of Chance in 2024. Furthermore, the Directorate will continue to strengthen cooperation with relevant institutions in the area of anti-money laundering, which will contribute to further improvement of control mechanisms and more efficient monitoring of financial flows, the Directorate for Games of Chance stated.
