Princess Ksenija Highway sees over 2.5 million vehicles in 2024

According to data from Monteput, 2.56 million vehicles have passed through the Princess Ksenija Highway since the beginning of the year. This represents a notable increase compared to 2023, when 2.29 million vehicles used the highway, and 2022, when 1.14 million vehicles traveled on the route following its opening in mid-July.

The priority section of the highway, connecting Bar and Boljare, was officially opened on July 13, 2022, and traffic began the following day. During the first seven days, tolls were waived. After that, the toll rates are as follows: €1.5 for motorcycles, €3.5 for passenger vehicles, and €17 for trucks and buses.

The first section of the highway spans 41.5 kilometers and features 20 bridges along the main route, nine bridges on ramp loops, two overpasses, eight underpasses, 7.2 kilometers of concrete walls, and 16 twin-tube tunnels.

The section also includes four interchanges with toll booths, connecting the highway to the existing road network. These interchanges are located at Smokovac, Pelev Brijeg, Veruša, and Mateševo.

The maximum speed limit on the highway is set at 100 kilometers per hour.
