The key decision-makers must, through proper management and a responsible approach to the Capital, create an environment that stimulates investment activity and the opening of new jobs, enabling Cetinje to fully realize its economic potential, stated Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović.

“Projects such as the construction of the second phase of the Kotor–Lovćen–Cetinje cable car can further enrich the tourism offer of this region, making Cetinje more accessible to visitors, bringing it closer to the sea, and connecting the unique natural beauties of the Capital, Lovćen, and the Montenegrin coastline,” Milatović said in his message on the occasion of November 13, the Day of the Capital and the Day of the Liberation of Cetinje.

According to him, connecting Cetinje with other historically significant destinations in Montenegro, such as Kotor and the Bay of Kotor, will attract more tourists and strengthen Cetinje’s position as a cultural center of regional and international importance.

“On that glorious November 13, 1944, thanks to the sacrifice, courage, and determination of the fighters of the Tenth Montenegrin Brigade, in cooperation with other partisan units, a final blow was dealt to the fascist occupier in this area, thus securing freedom for the Cetinje region,” Milatović added.

He emphasized that the city of Cetinje, which gave birth to 49 national heroes, reminds us of our obligation to continue building a better and more prosperous future for all citizens of Montenegro, based on the values of antifascism that shaped our society.

“Situated at the foothills of Lovćen, with its rich cultural and historical heritage, Cetinje has always been and remains the cradle of Montenegrin statehood and culture, as well as a witness to the glorious historical continuity of our country,” Milatović said.

He also stated that it is an honor and pleasure for him, as President of the Senate of the Capital, to participate in charting the future development of Cetinje.

“You will always find support in me for any initiatives that contribute to the progress and prosperity of the Montenegrin Capital. On this note, I send my best wishes and once again sincerely congratulate you on the Day of the Capital,” Milatović concluded in his message addressed to the leadership of the Capital, the municipal councilors, and all the residents of the city.
