Montenegro’s Yacht Registry has reached a total of 576 registered vessels, as reported by the Maritime Safety Administration. This figure reflects an increase of 40 yachts, or 7.5%, since May of this year.
In comparison to the end of 2022, when the registry listed 525 yachts, the current count shows a rise of 51 vessels, equating to a growth rate of 9.7% over that period.
The majority of this growth can be attributed to Serbian ownership, which has seen an increase from 165 to 193 yachts. This surge positions Serbian owners as holding 33.5% of the total registry.
Following Serbian owners are Russian nationals, who currently have 112 registered yachts—down by five since May. Montenegrin owners have registered 79 vessels. Together, Serbian and Russian ownership constitutes nearly 53% of all yachts in the registry.
The registry also includes yachts owned by individuals and companies from various countries: there are 27 from the United States, 21 from Ukraine, and 18 from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Additionally, there are 11 yachts registered to Israeli owners and 10 to German owners. Swiss and Estonian individuals each own nine yachts, while eight are registered to owners from the United Kingdom.
Notably, out of the total 576 registered yachts, 497 are owned by foreign nationals or entities. This indicates that vessels owned by Montenegrin individuals or companies represent only 13.7% of the entire registry.
