The Association of Montenegrin Banks (UBCG) said it had received information from all 11 banks operating in Montenegro, whose systems were stable and had no confirmed compromises that could threaten normal business. The statement followed media reports of a cyberattack on a private bank.
The bank-provided updates also indicated that the institutions were conducting business without interruption and continuing to serve citizens and the economy. UBCG emphasized the importance of accurate, verified and responsible reporting on the security and reliability of Montenegro’s banking system.
“Timely and objective reporting based on confirmed facts helps preserve the trust of citizens and businesses and prevent unnecessary concern,” the association said.
